BB 10 - IT'S GETTIN' GOOD!!!

August 29, 2008
From:  Yummy of the Day
"I've been watching Big Brother since the beginning, and I would have to say this has been one of the most subdued and yes, boring seasons in a while. Don't get me wrong, there has been some entertaining characters this year (please let Renny win), but there's been no major fireworks. Last night changed everything. First off, there was a double eviction, with Michelle being the first casualty. During the Head of Household competition, it came down to Keesha and Jerry. Did anyone else out there scream and jump from their seat when Keesha won? Hubby looked at me like I was insane. Hold on it gets better. She puts up Jerry and Ollie for eviction. Then there was the Power of Veto that Dan won hands down and Ollie was crushed. So, needless to say, Ollie was sent packin'. When his name was announced for eviction he got out of his chair and went straight out the door, no goodbye hugs or kisses. Come on cry baby, be a good sport. Dan summed up the night's drama perfectly, "If you're going to make an omelet, you need to scramble some eggs", and he beat the hell out of those suckers. Well, it's down to the final 5, Renny, Memphis, Keesha, Jerry and Dan. (. Stay Tuned..." -- Mac

BB 10 - MEMPHIS VS DAN

AUGUST 27, 2008
"I have one word for last night’s Big Brother: DRAMA!!! When we last left the house, Memphis and Jerry were up for eviction. I dropped to my knees and prayed to the reality Gods that Memphis would win the Power of Veto, and they listened. Ollie assumed that Dan would stick with their agreement and put up Keesha in his place. Well, you know what they say when you assume, and he came out looking like a big ol’ ASS. Dan put up Ollie’s ally, Michelle instead. Needless to say, they were not happy. We’ll have to wait until Thursday to see who gets the ax.

I know I proclaimed Memphis as my new BB 10 crush, but now that Dan has shown his evil side, I'm giving him another look. What do you think, Memphis or Dan? Stay Tuned…" -- Mac

BB 10 - THE CURSE OF THE BAD BOYS

 AUGUST 25, 2008
From: Yummy of the Day
"Okay, why is it every time I proclaim a crush on a Big Brother contestant they get nominated for eviction? First it was my sweet Jessie and now they're after Memphis. Last week April was booted (good riddance) from the house and Dan won the Head of Household competition. Everyone assumed that he would put up Jerry and Ollie, April's ally. But OH NO, he had to make a deal with Ollie in order to be HOH. So now this leaves Memphis on the chopping block with Jerry. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my crush will win the Power of Veto and save himself. Stay Tuned..." -- Mac

Favorite Birthday Boy #1 for July 18th

 Miguel Avramovic
From: Favorite Hunks & Other Things
One of my favorites, Argentine rugby player Miguel Avramovic turns a hunky 33 today.

Miguel Avramovic (born 18 July 1981 in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine rugby union footballer, currently playing for Agen in the Top 14. He has also played for Worcester Warriors in the Premiership. He has been capped for the Argentina national team. He usually plays in at center or fullback. He has 11 caps and 20 points (5 tries for Los Pumas.)

He made his international debut for Argentina in April 2005 in a match against Japan. He then played two games for Argentina A in June, against the United States and a non-cap England XV. He earned another full two caps that year playing against Canada in July, and against Samoa in December. He played against Uruguay in July 2006 in what was a 2007 Rugby World Cup qualifying match.

July 7th is Father-Daughter Take A Walk Together Day

Father-Daughter Take a Walk Together Day is celebrated every July 7th, just in time to get outside and enjoy the wonderful weather with loved ones. On this special day fathers and daughters of all ages are encouraged to spend time together enjoying their natural surroundings. And with the health benefits associated with walking, and emotional and psychological benefits of family bonding time, it’s a wonder we need a special holiday to remind us to get out there and move!

August 3rd is Friendship Day

Friendship Day was originally founded by Hallmark in 1919. It was intended to be a day for people to celebrate their friendship by sending each other cards, but by 1940 the market had dried up, and eventually it died out completely. However, in 1998 Winnie the Pooh was named the world’s Ambassador of Friendship at the United Nations (believe it or not!), and in April 2011 the United Nations officially recognized 30th July as International Friendship Day; although most countries celebrate on the first Sunday of August!

According to the Friendship Day declaration, we are invited to “observe this day in an appropriate manner, in accordance with the culture and other appropriate circumstances or customs of their local, national and regional communities, including through education and public awareness-raising activities”.
